Welcome to 7th Grade Life Science

Hello! My name is Benjamin Nylander, and I teach 7th grade Life Science at Jordan Middle School! This is my 10th year teaching in Jordan.

I grew up in the small town of Lisbon, ND. After graduating from high school in 2000, I attended Concordia College--Moorhead until 2005. While there I competed in both Track and Cross Country and earned a bachlors degree in Science Education with an emphasis in coaching. I next became a graduate assistant coach for Track and Field and Cross Country at the University of Nebraska--Kearney and earned a Master of Arts in Physical Education.  I recently completed a second Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Concordia University St. Paul.  I was inspired to become an educator by the teachers, professors, and coaches that I had.

My current extra curricular responsibilities include coaching the boys and girls cross country teams in the fall as well as the boys and girls track and field teams in the spring.

I am an avid sports fan! I follow all of the Minnesota professional teams, especially the Vikings and Twins! I also follow the MIAC quite closely as I cheer for the Cobbers as well as for all of the Jordan High School athletic teams!

My wife Heather and I live in Jordan with our daughters Alyvia (3) and Tenley (1).
